PrepVolleyball.com SOPH 79 List includes Nici Thaler (CMVBC 16-1)

PrepVolleyball.com announced their 2009 SOPH 79 list of the nation’s most outstanding varsity-playing high school volleyball sophomores.  To be considered, a player needed to be a varsity starter as a sophomore and one of the top talents in their area.  Congratulations to Nici Thaler, playing on our CMVBC 16-1 Gold team, who made the highest honorable mention list as follows:

Nici Thaler, 5-4 Libero, Rock Bridge (Columbia, Missouri) – One of the best liberos in the state, Thaler had a school-record 411 digs in 2009, 250 more than any of her Bruin teammates. She also was a standout on serve receive and second on the team in aces. She was a First Team All Region pick.

Starting in October 2009, PrepVolleyball.com sent out word to high school and club coaches across the land that they were looking for the best high school sophomores in the United States.  Unlike PrepVolleyball.com’s Senior Aces list and Top 50 juniors, which are recruiting lists, this is a high school list based exclusively on accomplishment at the varsity prep level.
