PrepVolleyball.com FROSH 59 List includes Melissa Hoerber (CMVBC 16-1)

PrepVolleyball.com announced their 2009 FROSH 59 list of the nation’s most outstanding varsity-playing high school volleyball freshmen.  To be considered, a player needed to be a varsity starter as a freshman and one of the top talents in their area.  Congratulations to Melissa Hoerber, playing up a year on our CMVBC 16-1 Gold team, who made the list as follows:

Melissa Hoerber, 5-8 S, Fulton (Missouri) – A passionate player who excels in all aspects, Hoerber provided “senior leadership” to her high school team despite her tender years. Running a 5-1 offense, Hoerber almost broke the school record for assists with 477, and she was very offensive minded, producing 136 kills and 60 aces with her tantalizing jump float. She was named First Team All Conference, First Team All District and Second Team All Region. “Melissa’s talent, work ethic and winning attitude make her a coach’s dream athlete,” said Fulton coach Stephanie Whitehead.

Starting in October 2009, PrepVolleyball.com sent out word to high school and club coaches across the land that they were looking for the best high school freshmen in the United States.  Unlike PrepVolleyball.com’s Senior Aces list and Top 50 juniors, which are recruiting lists, this is a high school list based exclusively on accomplishment at the varsity prep level.
